This dreamy and creamy Healthy Pumpkin Pie Smoothie is the perfect fall treat.
Hi everyone!
Has anyone else had the frozen PSL this year? I talked about it last week in this month's Currently and I have to say I'm hooked. Frozen and pumpkin somehow magically just go together. No, this isn't exactly a copycat version as it is missing the coffee flavor entirely, but my Healthy Pumpkin Pie Smoothie will totally sell you on fall smoothies.
Somehow these totally clean and healthy ingredients come together to make a smoothie that legit, actually tastes like you are drinking pumpkin pie. Don't believe me? Try it for yourself!
The secret, like in a lot of creamy smoothies is a frozen banana. It's basically smoothie gold.
Don't worry though, the flavor gets totally covered up by the Healthy Pumpkin Pie Smoothie flavors. You really can't even tell.
I topped mine with some whipped cream, which is not healthy at all... but it really adds to the pie flavor without adding too much bad stuff.
If I was eating this Pumpkin Pie Smoothie as breakfast, I'd leave it off or just put a small dollup... but for a fun snack/dessert I feel like the whipped cream is totally justified.
I mean looookkkkk..... This baby looks and tastes amazing.
And remember, pumpkin is actually good for you! It's packed with vitamins and antioxidants so you can devour all these pumpkin themed dishes this year guilt-free.
Enjoy.

Pumpkin smoothies always hit the spot! Shh... but as much as I love them I must confess I have only made a couple this year compared to the almost daily of years past. I probably should make one again soon before the season ends.
Happy Meatless Monday!

This makes me feel like it could taste similar to this pumpkin pie milkshake I've been missing from where I went to college. It was a super-seasonal item and I always missed it by justthismuch. Definitely going to have to try it out! <3 I love adding frozen bananas to my smoothies!

Yes, I totally agree that if you add a banana to a smoothie that has some other really strong, vibrant flavors you can't taste the banana, but it adds so much creaminess. Checking this out this morning; maybe I can make it for breakfast!
JulieWunder says
Yay! So glad you liked it. Hope you are having a good weekend.
