Hi friends! Happy Monday! 10 days until Christmas. Can you believe it? How was your weekend?
I did all things Christmas this past weekend and am now feeling really festive and just a little tired. I just need to get a little more shopping done and then I’ll be ready for the big day.
Work Christmas Party
The hubs work Christmas party was Friday night at a hotel in downtown Asheville . Every year the party is really nice, classy and has great food.
His company always puts together beautifully set tables and decorations.
Plus it is fun to get dressed up and see his co-workers.
This year I opted to wear a red knee length dress with rushing. I love that this dress has sleeves! I get so cold. I have a ton of work dresses I am not wearing now, so I decided to shop my closet for something to wear to the party. The dress is Ralph Lauren and the shoes are BCBG.
The best part of the party is there is usually some sort of entertainment. This year a magician walked around during the cocktail hour and then hosted a “game show” after dinner. The set up was legit with buzzers, trivia, and prizes. I got picked to play the first round and the hubs got picked for the third. We both think the random drawing was rigged :-).
The trivia was right up my ally- pop culture, music and a lot of Disney stuff mixed in. I NEVER get trivia right so I was thrilled that I got second place! I’m a sucker for games, no matter how cheesy they are.
Girls Night Christmas Party
Saturday I went to an annual girls Christmas party with friends.
We never do pictures at the party, but I did have the hubs snap a picture of my outfit by the tree before I left.
I once again shopped the closet for this look. I wore black comfy pants from White House Black Market, a red sweater from the Loft (I got it for $10 at the end of last year!) and a white scarf my Mother-in-Law gave me to make the outfit look a little more festive. I had a great time at the party. We have a tradition of doing a dirty Santa gag gift game and playing games like Catch Phrase. So much fun!
Christmas Dogs
To finish off the weekend of festivities I baked a TON of cookies Sunday. I used my Grandmother’s famous recipe.
I’ve actually never made a huge batch of cookies like this before to pass out, so I hope I can get them wrapped up and passed around like a pro. I’m a little drained from the weekend parties, so I need to find some energy. Where is the peppermint mocha.....
Wrapping up the weekend of all things Christmas, I FINALLY made our little family Christmas card this weekend. I am so behind (too much time on the Christmas trees…. 🙂 I put a rush order on them so hopefully they will get here soon and I can start addressing. I really wanted a picture of Rhett and Reina for the card, so I went outside with their favorite treats and my camera. The outtakes were so funny that I just had to share!
Reina takes the funniest pictures…
This one would be perfect if I would have removed the bribe from the background AND noticed the terrible shadow.
Rhett just wanted to sit on my lap…
Reina is doing the one trick she knows: “shake!”
Rhett is doing the one trick he knows: “Roll Over!”
After about 45 minutes, I settled for this one! I wish Reina was looking down just a little, but I couldn't torture them any longer!
What a weekend! I hope I have a little down time this week because I have two more parties next weekend. The holidays are so much fun but also very exhausting!
Your turn!
How was your weekend?
Any tips for pictures of two slightly neurotic, but adorable, dogs?

December is always such a crazy month. I include our cat on our card, but she's photographed separately. I've put her into family photos and I can't get her AND the toddler to look at the camera together.

Love that red dress! I was looking for one that I could wear for Christmas eve, but found no red dresses! It just looks perfect on you. I also realized I don't own a white scarf. Now I'm on the hunt because I love that outfit you pulled together! I have no tips for pictures of dogs, haha. I know when we take one of my brother's dog, we have to convince him by holding a treat above the camera.

Yay for Christmas parties! You are rocking the red dress, girl! Very festive. I have my work Christmas dinner tonight and will probably wear a classic LBD. You can never go wrong with those.

Love your dress and the nice picture of you and the hubs.
I had my work year-end meal at the Moose Cafe Saturday evening for staff and family. My 3 month old grandson was dressed like a baby moose. He was So Cute !

Aw! You have the sweetest dogs. I love the photo of Reina posing as if she was going to shake your hand, and Rhett rolling over. What silly dogs 🙂

Wow, that decor for the holiday party is so pretty! I don't think any company I've worked for has ever done anything like that haha! And I LOVE your dress - you look gorgeous!

LOVE you in that dress, and love the sleeves as well--I'm another gal that gets super cold, so I always look for a dress like that.
