Take your yogurt treats up a notch with these creative yogurt bowl ideas!
Hi friends!
I have a little confession for you today... I've been trying to break myself of an after dinner snack habit I picked up during the holidays. It's not an every day thing, but it is still more often than I'd like.
I tried to go cold turkey, but that wasn't any fun at all! I needed a Plan B. I then decided to brainstorm some creative after dinner sweets that still had some redeeming nutritional value. I thought if I could add some protein and keep down the calorie count, I'd adjust my diet the rest of the day to accommodate my after dinner treat. Enter my dessert yogurt bowls!
I present the Hawaii inspired Mango Coconut Yogurt Bowl above.
And the Key West inspired Key Lime Pie Yogurt Bowl below.
Ta-da!
I'm such a problem solver 😉
My yogurt bowl journey started at Walmart.
I choose a few yogurt cups from the dozens of super tasty Yoplait® flavors available. If it's been awhile since you've looked at all their flavors, I encourage you to look again. They have some really tasty ones these days!
For my Hawaii inspired bowl, I went with Yoplait® Greek yogurt in the coconut flavor.
I'm a fan of the thick, creamy and authentic coconut taste. With 13 grams of protein and only 100 calories, I knew I found the perfect cup.
To make it seem more dessert-like and island inspired, I added a few pieces of dried mango and a sprinkle of dark chocolate chips! The result is the perfect way to 1-Up Your Cup!
To draw on a Key West inspired dessert, I went right to the classic pie filling substitute! The Yoplait® Key Lime Flavor has been a favorite of mine for a long time as a way to satisfy the key lime pie craving. It also has 13 grams of protein with only 100 calories!
To really get the entire pie flavor profile, I added a couple graham cracker squares and just a sprinkle of white chocolate chips. The white chocolate chips add the richness of having cream on the top. Just a few really make this treat seem even more indulgent.
The finished result is a tasty dessert snack that will totally kick your cravings, while keeping the protein count high. You will stay full for longer and feel good about your evening snack!
Plus, I love these combinations because the flavors take me back to eating fresh mango and coconut while watching the sunset in Hawaii.
And sneaking off after this sunset in Key West to get a giant slice of real Key Lime Pie!
Sitting on the couch at home enjoying my Yoplait® Mango Coconut and Key Lime Pie Yogurt Bowls is as close to a tropical vacation as I'm getting this February, so I'll take it!
These are just two of infinite amount of flavor combinations possible. With over 125 flavors, Yoplait® has countless ways to help you 1-Up Your Cup! It's actually a fun creative game.
