It's made with just two ingredients - cottage cheese and ranch seasoning - to blend the richest, creamiest, and most flavorful ranch dip you've ever had. It will blow your mind! The taste is on point too. You'll think you are enjoying a rich dip, but in reality, it's really good for you, and a generous helping, ½ cup, is only around 100 calories with 12 grams of protein in each serving.
With viral recipes on TikTok, cottage cheese is having its foodie moment, and for good reason. It's the perfect high-protein base for dips and dressings that easily blends with a food processor into a dip consistency that's easy and tasty. It's way better than the sour cream ranch dips you'll find in the store. It's a special, healthy recipe that you have to add to your menu this year. This recipe just happens to be low-cal, low-carb, high-protein, gluten-free, vegetarian, and more. Ingredients:
Here's an overview of what you'll need to make this Cottage Cheese Ranch Dip, but keep scrolling for the full recipe amounts.
- Cottage Cheese: You'll need a 16-ounce container of savory cottage cheese for the Cottage Cheese Dip. You can use full-fat, low-fat, or fat-free depending on your dietary preferences. Full-fat cottage cheese will give you a creamier, richer dip, but you can make it with whichever you prefer. It's still good with even fat-free cottage cheese.
- Ranch Seasoning Mix: You can use the classic Hidden Valley Ranch Seasoning or make your own DIY Ranch Seasoning. The DIY Ranch Seasoning is made up of parsley, chives, onion powder, garlic powder, dried dill, salt, pepper, and powdered buttermilk. One of the packets of the ranch is 3 tablespoons of seasoning, so you'll need that much to make the dip.
You'll also need a good blend or food processor to make this whipped cottage cheese dip blend nice and smooth. I love this one because it has both a food processor and blender attachment and blends anything super smooth and creamy.

FAQ
Storage & Leftovers
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Freezing
I would not recommend freezing this dip as the consistency would be strange when you thaw it out.
What is the difference between ranch dressing and ranch dip?
The difference between ranch dressing and ranch dip is the thickness. A ranch dressing is thinner and has an easy time drizzling on a salad. It has more oil or milk to help it thin out. A Ranch Dip is thicker, so it sticks to whatever you are dipping on it easier. It's made to scoop out and is firmer in texture. This recipe makes a thicker dip, but follow my instructions above in variations to make it into a dressing. You can also make my Healthy Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing if you want another type of healthy ranch that isn't made with cottage cheese.
What are the best things to dip in ranch?
There are so many things you can put ranch on! For this recipe, I keep it healthy and serve it with veggies and crackers but the possibilities are endless including burgers, avocado toast, wings, pizza, chicken fingers, french fries, onion rings, and even tacos!
