Hi friends!
I had the best weekend! The weather in the mountains was absolutely stunning and one of my oldest, dearest friends came to visit. I hope yours was equally has wonderful.
For a little fun on this Monday, It's time for a fun series I like to call Currently...
Currently I'm...
Reading...
I'm still working on my Pat Conroy novel, Lords of Discipline, which is so beautifully written. Up next is a new book by one of my college roommates, Kristin Harmel. It's called When We Meet Again and sounds enchanting. Her last books, The Sweetness of Forgetting and The Life Intended are two of my favorites so I'm looking forward to a fresh read. Her writing is beautiful, easy to read and the subjects and characters really stay with you!
Listening...
I'm a little embarrassed to admit I've been jamming to this one in the car! Makes me laugh and smile every time.
Watching...
The Hubs and I are still into Breaking Bad! Thank you to everyone who suggested we keep at it. I'm now totally intrigued and can't wait to see what happens. We are 100% hooked but don't have enough time to watch more than an episode or two at a time so we might be at it for awhile.
When I'm watching TV by myself I've been watching So You Can Think You Can Dance. They changed it this season and put kids on it, which I thought I wouldn't like... but the kids are actually crazy good! I think some of them are better than the young adults.
Wearing...
I picked up this adorable hippie dress in Austin. I plan to live in it for the rest of the summer. Expect a Fashion Friday featuring it soon.
I WISH I was wearing these boots I found in Austin. I went into Allen's Boots, which is a mecca for cowboy boots and drooled over the options for way too long. These were absurdly out of my price tag, so I guess I'll keep dreaming!
Eating...
Avocado Toast! I'm a little late to the avocado toast game but OMG I was missing out. Who ever thought something so simple could be so tasty.
I also had really good food in Austin. I showed you all the Mexican food in my post, but I also had this Miso Glazed Seabass from Truluck's. It was divine. I was going through my phone and decided this beauty was too good not to share.
Drinking...
I met a few girlfriends for dinner last week and we shared a really good bottle of french Rose. It was not sweet at all and had a perfect taste. They say Rose is making a comeback... if more of them tasted like this, I'd be on board.
It probably would have been less ghetto to show you the bottle full, but I didn't realize how much I was going to like it until it was G-O-N-E!
Indulging...
Does my taco bender in Austin count?
I've been trying to be good since I got back. Trying!
Praying...
For Orlando. As many of you know, I grew up in Orlando. While I left after college, my Dad still lives there in my childhood home so it's obviously a place close to my heart. I am so deeply saddened that such an act of terror happened anywhere, but it stings even more when it's in your former backyard. I wrote about how heartbroken I was on Facebook last Sunday, but couldn't really come up with the words to address how I was feeling on the blog last week. There still don't seem to be any words. All I keep thinking is that all around, love has to win here. It just has to win.
Have a wunderful day everyone.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. Come back tomorrow for Blueberry Pie Overnight Oats!
I'm linking up with Marvelous Monday!
Your turn!
Answer one of the Currently... prompts above.

Fun post!! I think I am missing out with the avocado toast. Can't wait to try it!
Wendy@Taking the Long Way Home says
Love love love that dress! Now I have to look for it. And those boots are amazing. I bet you can't get them off your mind!
Yes. Love has to win.
JulieWunder says
I can't! If they weren't so expensive, they would have been mine!!!
Susanna @Zealous Mom says
Such a fun post! I feel like was nodding my head the entire way through feeling so many similarities. First off, the hippie dress is the cutest. I love bohemian, comfy dresses like that one. Also, my friend in NYC introduced me to avocado toast a couple of weeks ago so I am late to the game as well and oh my gosh, so yummy! I've also added an egg to the top to make it even more filling. And I couldn't agree more about the Rose. So delicious! Hope all is well. See you soon!
JulieWunder says
Going to have to try the egg. Great idea!
Blane Sherer says
Yes, I thought about you when the tragedy in Orlando
was happening. I know that must be extra tough for you.
JulieWunder says
So sad!
Lauren says
Girl- that dress is super cute and I love the boots too...although I might look a little out of place strolling around jersey in them! So many of my friends drink Rose...Will need to try this soon! Um and I still have not seen Breaking Bad!
JulieWunder says
Hi Lauren! Thank you! You might look a little out of place in Jersey! haha. 🙂 I'm glad I stuck with Breaking Bad, despite how crazy violent it is... it's a really interesting show.
Melissa says
Mmm I want to look into all those books! THAT DRESS. Please post 100 pics of it, thanks. SO Austin and so cute! I would want to live in that too.
JulieWunder says
Thanks Melissa! I will 🙂
Debbie@debbiethisandthat.com says
Love the cute dress!..Let's see, I'm currently drinking my favorite summer (and all seasons) beverage...Iced tea!
JulieWunder says
You can never go wrong with a big glass of iced tea!
Farrah says
Oh goodness, there are so, so many books on my to-read list right now! :'( That dress is super cute, and yayyyy for avocado toast! Best thing ever! 😛
JulieWunder says
I know! I would just love an entire week just to read.
Mary Beth Jackson says
I like a nice rose in the summer, you are right, it is making a comeback! That is a cute dress and yes, I can totally see you in those boots! I am enjoying a few days in New Orleans this week and loving the time off from work!
JulieWunder says
Hope you had fun in New Orleans!
Dani @ Dani California Cooks says
I felt like I was late to the avocado toast game too, and I live in SF!!
JulieWunder says
We really had no excuse to not know about it. Glad we both caught up.
Edye says
That dress is so cute! Lately I've been loving fresh watermelon! It's one of my favorite things about summer 🙂
Blessings,
Edye // Gracefulcoffee
JulieWunder says
Ohhhh! I haven't had fresh watermelon yet this summer. I need to get on that.
Nicole @ Fitful Focus says
OMG Breaking Bad! Slightly jealous you're getting to experience it for the first time - so good! I went on a serious hunt for boots when I was in Austin and ended up driving out to a big outlet where I found some good ones at a much more reasonable price.
JulieWunder says
OMG. I should have talked to you before I went! Not that I really needed a new pair of boots............. 😉
Morgan says
I'm OBSESSED with Thomas Rhett. I play Dia a Happy Man for my husband all the time and tlel him he needs to sing it to me. No such luck.
Those boots are GORGEOUS but does that price tag read 819!?!?!?
JulieWunder says
Haha! I totally with you. He's a doll.
I think those were about $500 and the ones next to it were $819. The ones in the next room were $2000-$3000. I was afraid to touch them- haha! Sooooooooooooo not even remotely in my price range. haha! Just dreaming!
Mary Ellen @ VNutrition says
Love that hippie dress! And the avocado toast!
My class assignments have calmed down a bit so I need to find a good book to read - I'll try to find the Kristin Harmel books.
JulieWunder says
They are really good! She is really talented.
Dan Steadman says
Hear you on Orlando, like I told my fifth graders yesterday, last week while I was teaching on love (1 Corinthians 13) how Christ loved us, we should love other Christians, and even those who worship a different God, have a different lifestyle, maybe we can cut down the number of these things.
Drinking....found a new top 5 Craft beer, and it's making a run for #1...Palmetto Pale Ale, brewed in Charleston...
JulieWunder says
Such a good reminder! Teach our kids tolerance and love.
Dannii @ Hungry Healthy Happy says
I need to get on the Breaking Bad wagon. I have only seen the first season and then I just stopped watching it for some reason.
Deborah @ Confessions of a mother runner says
I also binge watched Breaking Bad a few years back so good. Not loving the Better Call Saul spin off so much though. Have a great week
Shelley Marcy says
Julie and anyone else reading this comment, love really does win in the end if we have a personal relationship with Jesus. Faith in God is what will get us through the tough times and a relationship with Jesus is what will take us to Heaven one day where nothing but love lives eternally.
JulieWunder says
So true! Thanks for the reminder Shelley.
Susie @ SuzLyfe says
It is always cool to know/have a connection to someone who puts something out there into the mass market! Reminds you that EVERYONE has a chance, you know?
JulieWunder says
Everyone does! It just takes persistence and luck!
lacey@fairytalesandfitness says
How cool your know an author. I am currently reading Fast Girl! I will have to check those other books out. That seabass plate looks so pretty. I bet that was delicious.
JulieWunder says
I've heard that's a good book. I hope you enjoyed it!
