This homemade Easter Popcorn recipe will steal the show at your Easter festivities.
Hi guys!
I just love Easter. From the pretty dresses, pastel everything and the inspiring church services... I'm a fan of it all. It has always been my favorite holiday.
This year Easter falls super late in tax season, so, unfortunately, my plans for Easter involve a mainly MIA husband... but I'm sure we'll somehow make it to church and have a good meal. I still wanted to celebrate and feel festive so I created a fun Easter snack for the Hubs to take to work with him. My Easter Popcorn recipe turned out so yummy, I just had to share!
Here's why you'll love my Easter Popcorn recipe...
To make my Easter Popcorn recipe you start by popping your favorite popcorn. You can use a small microwave bag, air pop or even stove top pop... whatever makes ya happy! I'd just avoid those super buttery microwave bags. They are kind of gross and you don't need that anyway with the toppings.
Next, you melt some white chocolate chips in the microwave and drizzle until your heart's content. While the chocolate is still soft you sprinkle Easter M&M's and sprinkles on top.
When the chocolate hardens it forms yummy bark like bites! The combination of salty plus white chocolate and milk chocolate is pretty ridiculous. You must try it.
Obviously, this is more of a treat than a health food... but it is better than just eating a big bowl of Easter candy but it still totally satisfies that craving. The popcorn itself does have some redeeming health qualities and is a healthy snack, but of course, all those toppings certainly take away from that. So portion your bowl accordingly.
You could serve this Easter Popcorn recipe at a party, or use it as an edible gift! Or if you have kids around during the holiday have them help you make it! It's pretty fun to drizzle the chocolate and add all the goodies! You could even make it after the holiday as a fun way to use your Easter candy.
Here's what you'll need for this Easter Popcorn recipe...
- Your Favorite Popcorn
- White Chocolate Chips
- Easter Candy
- Easter Sprinkles
How to make this Easter Popcorn recipe!
- Pop the popcorn.
- Spread it out on a tray.
- Melt the chocolate in the microwave.
- Drizzle the chocolate and top it with the candy and sprinkles.
Remember Palm Sunday is this Sunday (I know... yikes!) and Easter the following week! Hope you'll give my Easter Popcorn recipe a chance this year. Order your Easter M&M's here and the pastel sprinkles here!
Easter Popcorn
Ingredients
- 5 cups popped popcorn
- ½ cup white chocolate chips
- ¼ cup Easter M&M's
- 1 tablespoon Easter Sprinkles
Instructions
- Spread the popcorn on a baking sheet in a single layer.
- Melt the white chocolate chips in the microwave. Start with 20 seconds... then stir. Do another 10 seconds at a time until it is melted. Careful not to burn the chocolate.
- Drizzle the popcorn with the white chocolate. While the chocolate is still soft sprinkle the M&M's and sprinkles on top, making sure to get it on the areas with the chocolate so it will stick.
- Allow chocolate to harden. Break apart any large pieces and serve.
