Halloween 2024 was downright epic. After a really hard month following Helene, doing something so fun and enjoying our town, friends, and neighbors felt amazing. The boys were also super into it this year and have been counting down the days until Halloween. The enthusiasm was downright contagious and it was the most fun Halloween ever for us.
Check out Halloween from 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 for kicks.
I'll kick the post off with our family costume this year, Aladdin! Our Disney Cruise this summer had an amazing show with Aladdin and we had also binge-watched the movie many times this summer, so it felt like the perfect costume. I gave them a choice to do their own thing this year, or still do the family costume, and they picked the family costume, which made me so happy. I'm not sure how much longer they will want to do this, but I'll soak in it while I can.
I'll blitz you with some of the fun photos now. I was so happy with how the costumes came out this year! The only reason I was able to get these on time is I ordered them before the storm hit, otherwise, there's no way I could have pulled it off.
"You ain't never had a friend like me!"
The highlight of the entire evening was spending time with our neighbors and friends! Here's the smaller kids for Halloween.
And here's our larger group from our street. I'm so grateful for these kids, their kindness, and their friendship through the years. It's a special group of kids!
We also had so much fun going over to our neighbors house before trick or treating for pizza.
She really outdid herself with an adorable table for the kids and cute stuff for them. It was so heartwarming to see them all together. Having neighbors as friends is the best.
I'm also super grateful for the super warm weather that made everything even more fun!
The boys for many years were in the back of our neighborhood pack, running behind trying to catch up with the big kids, but this year they were in front and running like crazy!
It's funny to see how it's all come full circle for them!
And here's the biggest smiles ever! It was one of my favorite nights in a long time.
While our normal October events were canceled, we were able to squeeze in a few other Halloween things this weekend. The church where the boys went to preschool had a trunk or treat, which we went to.
They wanted to be ghosts.
And we were able to snag the last few pumpkins at the grocery store and carve some pumpkins this year. I was super sad to miss our pumpkin patch, but like so much here it's just not happening right now.
And we got to do our first "storybook character" day at school. The boys picked a baseball player and a policeman. They had the funniest day at school dressed like this!
Halloween 2024 is one I will always remember. It felt like all night I was getting the feeling to just soak it in because I know the years with holidays like this the kids are fleeting and don't last long. What a joy it is to be on this journey with my sweet boys!
I hope you enjoyed the photos from our holiday! I'll be back with our normal weekly update next week. 🙂
