Thank you guys for the social media birthday wishes yesterday. I think Facebook makes birthdays more fun. Now all of your friends can easily wish you a happy birthday. I know some people don't get it, but I love getting all of the well wishes once a year.

I really really really wanted a new camera this year. I’ve been working with a little PINK Nikon point and shoot, but it gives me a lot of trouble and it can only go so far with taking nice photographs. I love taking pictures and hope this new “fancy” camera gives me better results. I want to take those sleek food photography shots with the blurred background.. Can you see it? I’m also hoping to have the ability to take better pictures of activity or motion. Rhett and Reina are ready to be good test subjects!
I have a little experience with news photography. Years ago I used to be a one-man-band reporter, where I shot my own video for the news. It’s been EONS since I’ve done that, but I hope I remember some basics for framing shots. It’s not the same as still photography, but at least I have some background knowledge that will hopefully decrease the learning curve time. I know I have a LOT to learn! I’m so excited to learn it though.

Happy birthday Julie! Looks like you had a wonderful day. I love your new camera 🙂 I had a point and shoot for a long time but pretty much only use my iphone now because it takes better pictures. Ha! Maybe some day I can upgrade to a dslr.

Julie, take pictures of things that make you happy......things that are special to you...you never know when your not going to be able to take those pictures.....I loved to take pictures of my kitty kat Princess Prissy ogles, but she got run over just a few weeks ago......just on my phone, I have over 25 pictures of her......I have looked at them and laughed, I have cried and I have told her how much I love her and miss her.....just have fun....
