This is the perfect Healthy Asian Green Beans recipe!
Asian Green Bean Recipe
I've loved cooking Asian food at home since I was a teenager... although my early attempts were not as super successful as this Asian Green Bean recipe. I remember when I first stopped eating meat I decided to cook for my family and a simple vegetable stir fry seemed like the perfect dish to try.
I carefully chopped vegetables for what seemed like hours and got out my parent's oversized 90's style electric wok. I cooked everything according to the instructions in my very first vegetarian cookbook, painstakingly plated the dish, and very proudly presented my family with the meal. There was nothing like Instagram food pictures back then, but I'm SURE my pretty plated meal would have gotten lots of likes.
Everyone took a bite and much to my dismay immediately made the worst face. They tried to eat another bite and another but they just couldn't. I finally tasted it myself and it tasted AWFUL! We ended up tracing back what I did and I ended up mixing up baking soda for corn starch giving the entire dish a terrible salty tang. We had to throw out the entire meal and order takeout.
Luckily my cooking has come a long way since then!
I've also learned the joy in finding simpler, healthier dinner and side dishes to cook. Chopping veggies all afternoon just isn't something I have the time or energy to do anymore. In fact, this Healthy Asian Green Beans recipe is made with only FIVE simple ingredients that you can't mix up!

Wow!! I am a believer. Fast, easy prep, cook, and cleanup. I used to steam and then fry my green beans to get this texture which meant more time, more dishes, higher calorie, etc. These turned out great! I look forward to changing up what seasonings I use too. I hadn't considered essentially roasting green beans before, but I have been converted.

This look like an awesome way to make green beans! I'll have to pick some up next time I'm at the store to make this.
Also I'm dying at your first Asian cooking attempt. I always get nervous cooking a new meal but just tell myself that if it doesn't turn out the right way or something is off then there's takeout. It's the thought and effort that counts with new recipe in my book.
