Craving candy? Try my Healthy Peanut Butter Cup Smoothie recipe instead. It's a guilt-free treat.
Hi everyone!
Happy Halloween! I have a bit of a confession to make. I'm not a big fan of Halloween... I never have been. I'm going to sound like a big Halloween scrooge here, but I don't really like creepy costumes, being scared or anything involving gross looking face makeup. I feel like when the twins come along they might change my mind though. Have you guys seen the adorable twin costumes out there? I'm already brainstorming for next year.
Even though it's not my favorite holiday, that doesn't stop me from enjoying some treats. One of my all-time favorites is a peanut butter cup. You just can't go wrong with the chocolate and peanut butter combination. Those were always the first to go in my Halloween candy bag growing up. And in honor of living in balance, I think you should have a couple of these treats on the big day.
But for all the rest of the days, how about a healthy Peanut Butter Cup Smoothie recipe instead!??
Peanut Butter Cup Smoothie recipe
Believe it or not, this healthy Peanut Butter Cup Smoothie recipe is actually pretty good for you AND tastes amazing. I'd venture to say you could have this several times the week of Halloween and be no worse for the wear.
In fact... I'll wait while you start the blender.
The base for the smoothie is frozen bananas (yes, AGAIN... but it WORKS,) but with the chocolate and peanut butter powder in it, you don't even taste it. It really just turns into a neutral base.
I normally don't like adding just plain ice to my smoothies, but this one calls for it because it just needs a little extra bulk. Just consider it a little additional hydration in the off chance you overdo it on the big day. 😉
The finished product is perfectly festive this time of year, but would honestly make a tasty smoothie any day.
I mean really.. is it ever a bad day to have chocolate and peanut butter????
Enjoy and have a fabulous Halloween friends!

Hi. I have twins. Mine are going on 19 yrs now. One is the best things they remember growing up is is making their Halloween costumes. They had a few store bought but most were home made. When they were 14 and had spent a summer learning to see they made their own. That year they went as Alice and the Mad Hatter. Their costumes were amazing. There were some years when they didn’t have a theme and then others where they made a deal to wear something the following year if they could match this year. Etc. I think the funniest costumes to make was the peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Dorthy the dinosaur (the wiggles). I can’t wait to try this recipe. Looks
So good. Enjoy your twins. They are so much fun and our annual Halloween party lasted until they were 17. Those were such fun years. Never anything scary.

Ooooh I love the peanut butter cup. This is the perfect take on a smoothie version. I'm looking forward to trying this. Halloween is really fun, but I agree, I'm not a huge fan of gross and scary things that seem to pop up. I can't really do those creepy Halloween foods.
