Hi everyone! We had the best time in Hilton Head over Thanksgiving. After cooking and doing a big Thanksgiving at home several years in a row, I wanted to do something a little easier this year. I'm so glad we had planned to do this before Helene hit because it would have been hard to host Thanksgiving at home anyway, and I'm so glad we had these plans to look forward to.
The trip kicked off on Tuesday. The boys went to school and we headed south! Our first stop was Skull Creek Boathouse where we had some food and watched the boats. We just love this place! It was the warmest day of our trip, so it was perfect to sit outside by the water.
Wednesday I booked us a wagon ride in Sea Pines.
It was a new to activity on Hilton Head and it turned out to be one of our favorite things on this trip.
The weather was mild and we enjoyed touring the nature preserve and getting a history lesson from the host.
We had lunch at the Salty Dog and spent the afternoon biking and beaching.
For dinner my Dad and Margaret joined us and it was so great to see them.
Thanksgiving morning the boys woke up super excited.
We tried another new-to-us activity and signed up for the Thanksgiving Day scavenger hut.
It was an adorable activity that took us racing through Sea Pines. I thought it would be low-key but the competitive spirit got the best of us and our entire family really got into it! We kind of thought we might have won, but we didn't. It was still super fun though. The boys were so cute to watch in it!
For Thanksgiving dinner, we ate at Sea Pines and it was lovely. I didn't cook at all and it was just the break I needed!
Aren't they handsome?
And Dad and Margaret joined us for Thanksgiving Day and dinner. We had so much fun with them! I'm so glad they could spend time with us.
On Friday we kicked off Christmas activies including seeing Santa on a fire truck and visiting him at Coligny Plaza.
Hunter was not feeling it this time, but Jackson got his wishes in.
We wrapped up the day with a sunset dinner at the lighthouse.
And the Thanksgiving Gregg Russel show under the Liberty Oak.
Saturday we had a low-key day of biking and spending more time at the Salty Dog, including eating lunch.
Hilton Head fans will appreciate this... we met Jake!!! The actual Salty Dog. Hunter was way more excited to meet him than Santa. 🙂
We even got to got their fun Christmas drinks again.
I just loved kicking off the holiday season this way! It was such a fun break for us. I love visiting Hilton Head around Christmas too. They have so many wonderful activities that have become a tradition for us.
I'm so grateful we got to do this! After a rough fall, it was just the break we needed. I can't believe it's full-on holiday mode now. The countdown to Christmas is on!
This Thanksgiving I'm also grateful for you! I appreciate y'all following my journey for so many years and supporting this small business that allows me to work part-time and also take care of my boys. Your support means the world to me!
