We just spent a fabulous week in Cap Cana, which is near Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. We loved our resort and can't wait to show you Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana photos. I'm working on a full review of the resort that will be published soon, but first I wanted to share some of our favorite family photos from the trip. We got some good ones! In case you missed it, I already published the professional photos we had taken there. I was so happy with how they turned out.
I love traveling to the Caribbean in January after Christmas to warm up and kind of reset after the busy holiday season, and this trip was perfect. After going to Turks and Caicos a few times, we were ready to try something a little different, and this trip was an ideal new location for us! It was a new adventure, but it still felt nice and relaxing. The weather, beaches, and food were so lovely! If you are looking for a different family-friendly vacation spot, this is it!
Here's what the beach looked like! It wasn't quite as nice as Turks and Caicos, but the water was still a lovely Caribbean blue with soft sand and mild water. I was also super excited about our matching suits. 🙂
The resort was breathtaking with huge palm trees, infinity pools, and lots of space.
Even though we visited in high season, when it was sold out, we never felt crowded. I am missing this view!
Here's another shot of the wide expansive beach! I loved how big it was.
My beach babies soaked up lots of beach time! We somehow got these giant shovels in our luggage. Totally with it because they are entertained for hours with these. 🙂
And Hunter, as always, had to make a sand pillow. We always say it's not a beach trip until Hunter makes a sand pillow. He has no joke been doing this since he was a toddler.
They loved playing in the super calm waters.
We even kayaked and did watersports.
And as you can guess, I was in my happy place.
Look at those palm trees!
We spent time playing at the beach and pools.
The boys loved floating around!
And to make it even more fun for the kids the resort had a water park. They had a fun small kids' area and some larger adult slides. It was truly a paradise for little boys.
One of the highlights for them was these fun water shooters.
They also had a lazy river.
It was anything but lazy with huge waterfalls crashing into you.
And we all loved this family racer slide where everyone could go down together.
The food was also great for an all-inclusive and we had so much fun eating tropical fruits all week.
That included unlimited passion fruit popsicles, which I highly recommend.
What a fabulous week in paradise! Can I go back?
I'm writing a more detailed travel post to publish soon, with a full resort review. This might be the spot for you if you want an easy, super-family-friendly vacation destination. I wasn't sure we would like the Dominican Republic, but we did! The food, amenities, grounds, and beaches were first-class! I can't wait to share more about it with you.
In the meantime, stay warm and stay safe.
