Happy Fashion Friday friends! I hope you had a fabulous week!
Fall color is slowly creeping into the Western North Carolina Mountains. We had a couple of cooler days this week and for the first time I pulled out my leggings and boots.
This combination of leggings and boots is one of my favorites. The leggings are nice and thick. They feel more like regular pants. The sweater looks very fall-like, yet it is thin enough not to be too hot.
The brown boots bring warmth and color to this leggings and boots outfit.
The weather has been swinging back and forth here from 50’s to 70s so I’m fairly certain I haven’t put away the sandals completely for the season, but the transition to my favorite fall fashions is happening.
Leggings and boots can be an easy look to wear, but it can be tricky to put together. This outfit works because the sweater is long but not too bulky. The boots compliment the leggings because they have a low heal. The leggings are flattering because they are very thick and don’t show all of your imperfections.
Boots and leggings are a classic look that can carry you through winter!

How about those of us who are *ahem* over 45? Our bumps and bulges are a bit more pronounced and our saggy post-baby tummies, well...can we pull off the leggings/boots look? Or should we stick to slacks?
JulieWunder says
I think you can pull it off, you just want to buy really nice and thick leggings. I've even seen with built in "tummy tamers/spanx" (White House Black Market.)
Just make sure the tank and sweater hits the top of your legs, covers it all but is not a tent. 🙂

OK I will give it a shot! Thank you!

I can't wait to bust out with my boots! But it is still in the 80s here. My favorite leggings are super thick and are from Costco of all places! They totally hide imperfections! I'm going to have to try out those BR Sloan pants that Jenny posted about...
JulieWunder says
Costco? No way! So cool. I've gotten cool things at Sam's before too but never leggings!

I am SO glad that boot season is back in full force! They are one of the easiest ways to dress up an outfit.
JulieWunder says
Seriously! I still love summer and flip flops but boots make the whole "it's cold thing" a little better.

I love this look! It's beautiful and so fall. I am always bad about wearing leggings alone. I need to get some black boots I think this look is SMOKIN!
JulieWunder says
Woop! I have a true boot problem- I see them I HAVE TO HAVE THEM 🙂 Thanks for the compliment, you made me smile 🙂

Absolutely lovely! But you would look good wearing a torn paper sack! Happy Friday Julie!
JulieWunder says
I don't know about that 🙂 but thank you so very much!!!

Oh, you know I whipped out my boots and leggings when I went to DC last week! It is my staple outfit this time of year -especially when traveling.
JulieWunder says
Yeah, it works great traveling! It will probably be awhile before you get boot weather!

I love leggings sweaters and boots! One of my favorite combinations for sure! This outfit is adorable and I have all the staples to put it together 😉 Have a great weekend!

I love this look! You've inspired my outfit for the day! I LOVE the Banana Republic slim ankle Sloan pant in ALL the colors...they aren't really leggings, but they're slim enough to fit under boots, and I swear they're magic. They make everything look good...so good that you don't have to bother with a long, seat-covering sweater if you don't want to. Try them! You'll thank me. 😉
JulieWunder says
Ok! I'll totally try some out. I have a TERRIBLE time with pants and will try just about anything to get a pair that fits.
