Here's an overview of what you'll need to make this Pistachio Pomegranate Crostini Appetizer, but keep scrolling for the full recipe amounts.
- French Bread: Crostini is traditionally made from French baguette. To prepare the crostini, slice the bread carefully with a shark knife into even ¼-inch slices.
- Olive Oil: You'll need a touch of olive oil to toast the crostini.
- Goat Cheese: Use honey-flavored goat cheese for this recipe. Leave it out of the fridge for 20-30 minutes before so it is soft enough to spread. You can also add 1 tablespoon of honey to plain goat cheese for the same effect.
- Pomegranate Arils: Also called pomegranate seeds, these little bursts of fruit goodness are filled with flavor and health benefits. They are sweet and delicious. You can either buy them already seeded from the fruit, or follow my instructions below on how to seed a pomegranate.
- Pisctchios: You'll need shelled and salted green pistachios.
How to Seed a Pomegranate:
To seed a pomegranate, cut it in half with a sharp knife. Place the entire fruit into a bowl with water for about 15 minutes. The arils then will come out easily. Then remove the shell and discard. Make sure the white membranes around the seeds are removed as they can be bitter. Drain the arils and keep them in a covered dish in the refrigerator for up to five days.

Is there an alternative you would recommend to goat cheese? Just not a fan of it...
JulieWunder says
You could do a mixture of feta and cream cheese! Or just plain cream cheese... but I think a little feta would add a lot of flavor. It just needs to be creamy enough to spread.
