A twist on a classic Italian dessert, my Strawberry Cannoli will have the entire table asking for seconds!
Hello friends!
I have a treat for you today… and no it is probably not the healthiest thing I’ve ever posted, but boy is it good! Life is all about balance and I’m willing to workout more for treats like this Strawberry Cannoli.
Cannoli's have had a special place in my heart since my trip to Italy. Before then, I had seen cannolis but never tried them. Now I have a minor addiction and must order them if I see them on a menu. The hubs also picked up my addiction and got giddy excited when I told him what I was making, so that alone was worth it!
This Strawberry Cannoli recipe is made a bit healthier because I use fresh strawberries.
These bright red berries pair perfectly with the sweet cream and cannoli shells.
There is nothing healthy about the cannoli shells, but they are pretty tasty. You can find them in the bakery aisle of the grocery store or your local bakery might make them from scratch. Either way they are a great shortcut to get this dessert on the table in less than 10 minutes.
This is one super easy cannoli recipe!
The homemade filling is a combination of delightful ricotta cheese, powdered sugar, fresh strawberries and mini chocolate chips.
My secret ingredient is a dash of almond extract! It brings the flavor together and really adds so much to the dish.
The hubs and I have been mildly obsessed with cannoli since our Big Italy Adventure two years ago, and this version hit the spot.
If you'd like to try a slightly healthier version of these, also try my Cannoli Stuffed Strawberries! All the flavor without the shell.
