Hi everyone! I'm still recovering from an epic Thanksgiving weekend that included two Thanksgiving dinners at my house, two fabulous Christmas activities, and all sorts of friends and family time.
We kicked off the long weekend with some friend time with our good friends who are more like family, Dan and Sommer, and one of their kids who is in college They came up for Thanksgiving on Thursday. We spent the day doing fun activities with the boys, spent time outside, and ate a wonderful meal. They brought half of it up from their house, which was so delicious. I didn't end up with a group photo, but we had a great time. Here's the one I got of myself and the boys.
Friday we turned over the house and my Dad arrived just in time for dinner out and going to the Arboretum Winter Lights.
It was the perfect way to kick off the holiday season and the lights were better than ever this year.
The boys remembered it all from last year and were so excited to walk through it all too. They absolutely loved it.
Jackson had a blast taking photos, including this one.
Saturday we went back to Thanksgiving mode and hosted the Wunder's for a fabulous second Thanksgiving day. They had to work during the week, so we decided to do our family dinner on Saturday.
The cousins had so much fun together.
And we got an actual family photo!
For lunch, we had a snack plate spread.
We spent the day cooking and playing. The kids even got to help make our family recipes including dumplings.
And my Mom's Sweet Potato Casserole. It felt extra special to have them all making things we made as kids.
And my Dad got some time with all the grandkids too.
Here's the crew minus the Hubs who is taking the photo. 🙂 It was a wonderfully crazy day with lots of fun, family, and food. It's so much fun to have everyone together.
Sunday we jumped back into Christmas mode with a family lunch at the Grove Park Inn!
I'm so grateful for more time with these guys.
The Grove Park already had the Gingerbread houses set up, which was so magical for the kids to see. I wasn't sure if they would enjoy it, but they loved it and were fascinated by it all. We also took advantage of all the classic Grove Park holiday photo ops.
Including this adorable trio with a view of the mountains.
And here's my Dad, Brother, and I.
The afternoon wrapped up with hot cocoa for all and such a fun and memorable day. I'm so glad we got to show everyone this gorgeous little corner of the mountains.
There was so much to be grateful for this year, from friends who are like family and a crazy family weekend like no other. I'm so glad we all could come together and celebrate Thanksgiving this year. I hope the kids remember it for years to come! I know I will.
And yes, I'm still tired. 🙂
