VEGETARIAN FAST FOOD
Do you ever get in a rut where you just don’t have time to make a really good trip to the grocery store? As much as I try to stay ahead, this still happens to me a lot.
I often wish there were good vegetarian and healthier options at fast food drive through windows. There are some healthy grilled chicken options, but as a pescatarian, I stuggle to find a decent meal at these places.
In high school I would go through the fast food burger joint and order a “cheeseburger with no burger” please.
That just doesn’t cut it anymore.
Here are some options I’ve found that are a little better in a “fast food” pinch. And as a general rule… tiny iceberg lettuce salads and french fries don’t count as a meal in my book.
(I consider “fast food” anything that has a drive through that you can find at almost any interstate exit. I put places like Subway, Panera, Moes and other “counter service” restaurants in a different category, as they often have plenty of vegetarian options. I will hunt down the interstate signs that have “counter service” options when on a road trip)

“Market Fresh Veggie” – This is actually not on the menu, but I have found almost any Arby’s will make it for me. It is the Market Fresh sandwich with cheese, veggies & sauce—no meat. Since it’s not on the menu, they don’t advertise a calorie count. Ask them to go light on the mayo based sauce to cut back on calories. It’s a fairly hearty choice.

WENDY’S FROSTY IN A CONE?
And on a side note… completely separate from trying to find something “healthy”…. has anyone tried the Wendy’s frost in a cone yet? I heard this is happening and it sounds amazing.
Mental note: Must try this summer…
All things in moderation, huh?

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE FAST FOOD SPLURGE?
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE “HEALTHIER” FAST FOOD FIND?
June Lisle says
My favorite fast food splurge is getting a red chili breakfast burrito from Blakes (it's a New Mexico thing). One of my favorite healthier options in fast food is just going to subway.

Frosty in a cone?!?! Say what? Some of my favorite childhood memories involve going through the Wendy's drive through my dad to get a frosty. Sounds like I need to try this soon 🙂
