Hi everyone! Thank you to everyone who sent us prayers last week when the wildfires were so bad. By Saturday afternoon the smoke had become suffocating and even more worrisome, but on Sunday we got RAIN! The rain hasn't put the fires out completely, but has helped the situation and the air quality so much. They have also let people go back home from the evacuated areas.
We were so grateful to get that rain that the boys pulled out umbrellas to see it. It ended up raining for almost two days, which was such a blessing. It rained again Wednesday into Thursday too.
I took the boys to the Biltmore between the rain and smoke to see the blooms. It was a bit early, they aren't all up, but wow was it gorgeous this year.
They still think going to see flowers with Mom is fun, so I'll take that as long as I can.
They also wanted to pose for all sorts of photos, so I got a few good ones too.
And this one is my favorite. I just love walking around the greenhouse. Every time I do I want to start my own orchid collection.
We also checked out the farm and playground, which is always so fun.
I'm always happy to see spring, but this year it feels especially sweet since the storm. There is still so much debris, and in the winter it's been even harder to see it all. Spring is a welcome change this year. We have more baseball this week and are looking forward to spring break just around the corner.
Have a blessed day and weekend everyone!
