Hello! Hello! Life is settling back into a somewhat normal routine after December crazies, the holiday break, and our trip to Turks and Caicos. It's been nice to kind of have a bit of normal after such a busy season.
The boys are back in preschool and loving it. I've been back to trying to fit in some work. I need a few big photo shoots this week for some new recipes for the blog. My poor kitchen looked like this for days but it felt good to get back to work. I really enjoy creating healthy recipes for y'all!
Have you missed any of the new recipes I've recently published? There are lots of fabulous options if you are trying to cook more food at home this year. Try these.--->
- Parmesan Panko Crusted Salmon
- One Pan Roasted Potatoes and Broccoli
- Crock Pot Potato Cheddar Soup
- Vegetarian Italian Stuffed Bell Peppers
- Chopped Kale Salad with Toasted Almonds and Cranberries
The other fun thing that happened recently is the twins got a big upgrade in their bedroom! I haven't finished it, but here is a sneak peek. They had been using the toddler bed from their cribs, but we finally got to upgrade to real beds for them. I ordered these months ago and they finally came in. On a side note, has anyone had terrible trouble getting things delivered from Pottery Barn? We have a crazy story about these getting delayed and delayed and spending HOURS and HOURS on the phone with them trying to get it fixed. I'm grateful they finally came through.
The transition to the big beds has been easier than I thought it would be and they love them. I have to admit I cried a little when the cribs came out of the room though.
I'll have to share my photos when I finish the rest of the room which at the rate I'm able to do things these days, might be in a few more months.
After a mainly snow-free winter, we also got a little dusting of snow the other day. It wasn't enough to really do anything with but don't tell that to two four-year-old boys!
The most fun activity recently for the boys was our neighbor's birthday party. Brett turned five and his Mom put together the darling fire truck party ever for him.
They even had a real fire truck visit and the boys got to sit in it.
They were so happy! It was such a fun party.
And finally, we got a date afternoon the other day! We went to Forestry Camp, which had some fun cocktails.
For dinner, we finally got to try Vinnie's South, and wow! I totally get the hype. It was SO good and is now one of our favorite places in town.
The lobster ravioli is amazing. It's great to have more delicious local options on the southside too!
That's it for the week! It's been pretty low-key, which has been a nice break from the holiday and travel mayhem. I hope y'all have been well too. Let me know what you've been up to below. I'd love to catch up!
