Happy Friday!
I hope you guys had a nice week. Mine was short because we didn't get home from our Dayton/Highlands whirlwind trip until late Monday. The trip to Dayton for my Grandfather's funeral was a bit exhausting, but I'm so glad I was able to go. I shared more about my Grandfather earlier this week if you missed it this week.
The wedding in Highlands on Sunday was beautiful! We stayed at the Old Edwards Inn and had the best time. Despite living in Asheville for so long, I hadn't really spent much time up there, but it definitely won me over. We hope to go back for a longer trip later this summer since this trip was cut a bit short due to the funeral.
The wedding was Jason's... who's daughter Isabella is our God-daughter. She looked so beautiful and grown up in her dress. The bride and groom looked equally as beautiful and handsome.
The decor for the wedding was stunning. There was plenty of pink and it was really classy.
The cake and dancing were also perfect. We missed the pre-wedding festivities we were invited to, but I'm so glad we made it to the ceremony itself.
I had another big TV project with ALDI Thursday so I spent much of Tuesday and Wednesday getting ready for it. I prepared several recipes and got all kinds of goodies together for the spread. It went really well and I'm planning on having the segment for you next week. If you are local it will air live on May 9th on the Carolina Spotlight, which is after the noon news on WLOS. I'm sharing some fabulous Mother's Day recipe ideas so I hope you'll watch.
We tape it on a green screen (the same one I used for weather) and they fill in the Carolina Spotlight set digitally... cool huh?
After the ALDI taping I decided to enjoy the sunshine. Yesterday afternoon was gorgeous! It went from being winter to summer with 80+ degree weather. I got takeout from one of my favorite restaurants and ate it outside as a little treat after the segment.
Makena also had the best time playing in the yard. She found this gross foam ball from a yard game from last summer and spent hours tossing it to herself. She's such a ham and is so happy winter is finally over too.
The only problem was convincing her to drop it before she came back in the house. 🙂 Silly dog!
Eventually we came back inside and now I'm putting together this post for y'all. 🙂
Here's what else happened on the blog this week just in case you missed it...
- 5 Ingredient Pineapple Salsa
- 10 Fresh & Juicy Strawberry Recipes to Make this Summer
- Hearty Vegan Cobb Salad
- Today is Another Day in Which to Excel (Remembering Grandpa Wunder...)
That's all for today. I really hope you have a lovely weekend. I'm looking forward to a fabulous dinner tonight at The Blackbird and will be sharing highlights in my Instagram Stories. See you then.
Come back Monday for a brand new recipe... Rainbow Chickpea Salad.
Your turn!
Tell me one fun thing you did this week!

I'm glad you enjoyed the wedding. Thanks for the heads up about the
Carolina Spotlight segment. That's kinda kool that you shot it in front
of the green screen like you used to do for the weather.
I will be meeting my family at my folks this Sunday to celebrate my mom's
birthday.
