Hi, y'all! With Labor Day weekend coming and going it feels like fall is creeping in a little quicker than I'd like. We even had a couple of 50-degree mornings in the mountains.
This past week has been full of trying to hold onto the last bit of summer. We got out the kiddie pool all weekend and let the boys play in it. They love to "help" fill it up with water.
Although their helping really isn't much help. 🙂
I had to run to the store to get a curbside pickup and I came back to find the boys with the Hubs trying to "push" over our huge front yard tree.
Apparently he told them they could push it over and this is what I came back to. So funny but I'm pretty sure this is going to backfire at some point when they try to push over a smaller tree. 🙂
Over the weekend we also stopped by a nearby lake to see the ducks again. Since we don't go out much the boys put on their best collard shirt.
They loved throwing the food to the ducks.
We also walked around with them some and they found lots of sticks and rocks to play with.
We're still being super careful but it's been nice to at least be able to do a few things with them.
Most of the rest of the week was pretty routine. We started most days with a nice walk. Hunter is pointing out a plane in the sky here. They have quickly become obsessed with pointing out every plane that flies by. They can even hear them in the house with their amazing hearing.
Both boys seem to be hitting a stride in their understanding and vocabulary in the past few weeks. They are stringing words together in 2 or on the rare occasion 3 part sentences. They are also little sponges with almost anything you teach them.
They are in a hard but fascinating stage as they are learning so much daily.
Hunter has also been obsessed with all books and he'll even run in the Hub's office and find our stash of old travel books. It cracks me up when he walks around with the Brazil one like he's making the trip too. It's bittersweet to see those books since travel like that isn't possible right now on so many levels.
Sigh...
We didn't really do much to celebrate the holiday- just spent time together as a family. But I guess that's what it's all about anyway... right? We'll all be holding on to these last weeks of summer as tightly as we can.
That's it for this week. I'd love to hear how your week has gone in the comments below.
