Hi everyone! We're in full-on Christmas mode here with holiday parties, events for the kids, and holiday music on repeat. I just love this time of year! With Thanksgiving so late this year, it feels like the season is flying by.
The highlight of the week was taking the boys inside the Biltmore House for the first time. We've spent countless hours exploring the outdoor areas of the estate with them but haven't taken them into the house because they have been lively little boys. 🙂
I felt like they were finally old enough to understand that they could not run around and take it seriously and they loved it! They listened to the kid's tour and took it all in and loved all the pretty trees. We didn't do the Candlelight tour, but booked a tour with our annual passes late in the day and then had dinner at the Stable Cafe. They had a special holiday menu and it was so good! It was a perfect holiday event for us. I'm also so proud of them for being so good on such a big kid adventure. I love the Biltmore, so my heart was so happy!
Our other big event this week was going to Bryson City to do the Polar Express.
We had a great time on the train and the boys loved all the treats and the story. We had a great time going to the North Pole. 🙂
Seeing Santa was fun too!
Both boys got a bell from Santa!
And I was also lucky enough to go on the boy's field trip this week. I'm so grateful for a super flexible job that lets me take off!
Their original field trip to a farm was canceled in October because of Helene, but luckily the school found another trip for the kids. We went to KidSenses Museum in Rutherfordton and it was super cute! The boys lived it up all morning exploring and playing with friends.

The museum was so nice and even had a pretend TV station area, which made me laugh. 🙂 If you are looking for something to do with the kids inside with all of this cold weather, I highly recommend it!
That's all for this week! We have another Christmas party this week, plus a few more of our holiday traditions to check off the list! The boys also have their last week of school before the holiday break. With missing a month of school, it has flown by.
I hope you are enjoying the holiday season too! We'll see you back next week. 🙂
