Crock Pot Sweet Potatoes are the best way to bake sweet potatoes and are such a tasty and healthy side dish.  Following these simple instructions, you can prepare whole sweet potato in the slow cooker with minimal prep work!

  • Wash and dry the sweet potatoes. 
  • Place the sweet potatoes in the slow cooker. 
  • Cover and cook the sweet potatoes on low for 8 hours until tender. The sweet potatoes are done when a knife easily pokes through them.
  • Remove the sweet potatoes, slice, add toppings and enjoy!

Notes

Cooking Times
Cooking times can vary slightly due to the size difference of sweet potatoes and how different crock pots heat at different temperatures. 
 
Storage & Leftovers
While best enjoyed fresh, you can store any leftover potatoes in an airtight container in the fridge for up to five days.  Reheat leftovers in a 350 degree oven for about 10 minutes.
 
Freezing
You can freeze the baked sweet potatoes by wrapping them individually in foil.  Put them in a freezer safe container and they will keep for up to three months.  Thaw completly before trying to reheat.
