Ingredients

  • ¼ cup butter
  • 16 oz bag of marshmallows
  • 6 cups rice krispie cereal
  • orange food dye
  • toppings: rolo candy & green m & m
  • optional: 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice

Instructions

  • In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter.
  • Add the marshmallows and stir until the marshmallows are completly melted. If using the pumpkin spice, add it now.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and the orange food coloring and then add the rice krispie cereal. Mix until well combined.
  • Spray your hands with cooking spray so it doesn't stick. Divide the mixture 8 parts.
  • Using your hands form 8 balls and then slightly flatten them out. While the mixture is still warm and pliable, add the rolo and green m&m to the top.

Notes

Storage & Leftovers
Store any leftovers or the Pumpkin Rice Krispie treats at room temperature in an airtight container.  They will keep for three to four days.  If laying them, put parchment paper in between them.
Freezing
I would not freeze these Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats as the taste and texture will not hold up to freezing and thawing.
